HELLO ABOUT THE ROLE MasterBUILT Hotels is seeking a dynamic National Director of Sales & Marketing to lead our sales and marketing strategy across the company and its portfolio of owned and/or managed properties. This role focuses on driving revenue growth, increasing Average Daily Rate (ADR), and supporting hotel General Managers in achieving their financial and operational goals. RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and implement the annual corporate strategic sales and marketing plan to support organizational objectives and key results (OKRs), including pricing recommendations, product positioning and revenue forecasting.
Lead and participate in the annual department budget process to support OKRs and maintain operations within the department. Develop and implement hotel marketing plans to achieve target financial positioning for the portfolio, including pricing, sales targets, target groups and revenue forecasting. Track and report key sales and marketing metrics/analytics for corporate and the portfolio to identify performance opportunities or cost control measures.
Monitor hotel performance and proactively act when business levels fall below budget or are forecasted to decline, creating action plans for shortâ and longâterm revenue solutions. Act as a key member of the leadership team, providing strategic insight into market trends, growth opportunities and revenue optimization. Provide overall leadership and guidance to the team, overseeing performance and development.
Mentor and align highâperforming Sales and Marketing teams under a unified revenue strategy, fostering accountability, collaboration and shared focus on growth. Facilitate crossâfunctional collaboration with operations, sales, marketing and revenue teams to ensure alignment on initiatives and outcomes. Oversee development, implementation and maintenance of department programs, processes and procedures, including training at the hotel level.
Provide insight into trends to support executive and senior leadership decisionâmaking, and actionâplanning and execution within the team. Foster a culture of creativity, experimentation and forwardâthinking within the marketing team, all focused on revenue generation. Ensure a cohesive approach between sales, marketing and revenue management to maximize financial results.
Oversee the development and execution of marketing and sales activities for the portfolio to maximize sales during market entry, peak periods and stimulate offâpeak periods. Oversee the preparation of sales and marketing campaigns for the company and its portfolio to maximize marketing ROI. Support revenue managers and hotel general managers to optimize pricing, inventory and distribution strategies.
Represent corporate and hotels professionally in community and industry organizations and events, and coordinate these activities as required. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum 8â10 years of progressive experience in hotel sales, marketing or revenue management, with experience leading multiâproperty teams. Proven ability to develop and execute innovative marketing campaigns.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the hotel landscape, revenue strategies and distribution channels. Bilingual in French and English is an asset. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience with CRM tools (MailChimp, HubSpot, Salesforce) and analytics tools. Positive attitude with a sense of humour. DESIRED EDUCATION Bachelorâs degree in business or hospitality management â considered an asset. WORKING CONDITIONS Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
Willingness to travel extensively; up to 20 % of time may involve travel across hotel properties. May require weekend and evening work as determined by executive management.
