Job Description
Job Description Job Description Position Overview A global leader in precision-engineered connector solutions for aerospace, defense, and industrial markets, is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to support and optimize production on existing manufacturing equipment. This is not an automation development role. We are looking for a technically grounded engineer who is comfortable on the floor, can diagnose mechanical issues, and knows how to work with precision components built to tight specifications. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot, maintain, and support existing production machinery across the manufacturing floor Work hands-on with small, precision-engineered components requiring strict dimensional tolerances Identify root causes of mechanical failures and implement effective, durable solutions Collaborate with production and quality teams to resolve process issues and minimize downtime Review and update engineering documentation including drawings, BOMs, and work instructions Support process improvements focused on reliability and yield, not automation expansion Ensure all work aligns with aerospace quality standards and regulatory requirements Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline 2+ years of hands-on manufacturing or production engineering experience Background in connector manufacturing, aerospace, or high-precision manufacturing strongly preferred Demonstrated experience working with small parts and tight tolerances Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to physically work alongside production equipment Proficiency reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T Solid understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, stamping, or assembly Preferred Qualifications Prior experience with connector systems (circular, rectangular, RF, or similar) is a significant plus Familiarity with aerospace quality systems such as AS9100 or NADCAP Experience in regulated, traceability-driven manufacturing environments Working knowledge of metrology and inspection equipment Who We're Looking For The right fit is an engineer who rolls up their sleeves. Someone who has spent time on the floor, understands why precision matters, and genuinely enjoys solving mechanical problems in real time. If your background is primarily in automation design or systems development, this likely is not the right fit. If you have built your career troubleshooting equipment and working with complex, tight-tolerance parts, we want to talk. Qualified candidates will be contacted directly by H.I.R.E. Talent Group.
