Rose City Rollers - Marketing & Development Manager Reports to: Executive Director About the Role Rose City Rollers is the largest roller derby league in the world, serving 400+ skaters and hosting 60+ events each year. Our mission is to serve women, girls, and gender-expansive individuals who want to play the team sport of roller derby, connect with an inclusive community, and realize their power both on skates and off. A strong connection to this mission is essential to succeed in this role.

We're in a period of transition-refocusing our work, simplifying where needed, and building a more sustainable future. This role brings together marketing and development into one leadership position responsible for driving revenue and growing engagement across the organization. You'll lead a small team and oversee the systems that power how we attract fans, fill events, build partnerships, and generate income-from ticket sales to sponsorships to merchandise and more.

This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys both strategy and execution, and who can connect a lot of moving pieces into something focused and effective. What You'll Own Marketing + development planning and execution Revenue-driving marketing across all programs and events Sponsorship and philanthropic revenue A small, cross-functional team Improving focus, systems, and coordination during a period of change Key Responsibilities Lead Strategy + Execution Build and run an integrated marketing and development plan across the organization Set priorities across many concurrent efforts and ensure the most important work gets done well Track performance and adjust based on results Drive Revenue Across Programs Oversee and support revenue-generating efforts across: 60+ derby games (ticket sales, promotions, attendance growth) Camps and intake cycles (recruitment and conversion) Skatemobile events (awareness โ†’ participation) Merchandise (in partnership with the merch committee) Sponsorships and partnerships Strengthen how we move people from first touchpoint to deeper involvement (fans โ†’ attendees โ†’ skaters โ†’ supporters/donors/sponsors) Lead Sponsorships & Partnerships Grow and manage sponsorships and partnerships Develop offerings, build relationships, and ensure strong fulfillment Identify new opportunities for collaboration and revenue Oversee Marketing Team & Execution Lead and support a team responsible for: Digital communications, social media, and ads Design and creative Sponsorship and development support Ensure campaigns are planned, executed, and aligned across channels Keep messaging, timing, and priorities consistent across all programs Development (Focused & Strategic) Oversee a right-sized approach to development work, including: Select grants Year-end appeal and sustaining donors Focus effort where it produces meaningful return Keep Work Organized + Moving Merch (Light Oversight) Ensure merch aligns with brand and campaigns Partner with the community-led merch committee No day-to-day merch management What We're Looking For Experience in marketing, partnerships, fundraising, or a related field Experience managing complex projects or multiple revenue streams Experience leading people or coordinating teams Strong organizational and prioritization skills Able to think strategically and execute practically Comfortable in a fast-moving, evolving environment Use ClickUp and other tools to manage timelines, projects, and priorities Build on our current systems to improve clarity and reduce chaos over time Details Schedule: Full-time, with some evenings/weekends for events Salary: $72,000 Benefits include: Medical + vision (100% covered), partial dental, PTO, flexible schedule, tech stipend, skating membership, gym membership, merch discounts.
