Job Description
Overview The Deli Manager is responsible for the efficient and fiscally responsible operation of the department. The manager will lead and manage staff to achieve the highest level of customer service while adhering to all protocols, policies, and safety programs. Responsibilities People Leadership β Create a coaching and development culture for all employees; demonstrate outstanding leadership; manage direct reports including selection, orientation, training, performance management, succession planning, and compensation; communicate operational requirements; manage store operations as required.
Customer Offering β Create a shopping experience that enhances loyalty, sales, and profit; provide superior customer service; demonstrate exceptional product knowledge; order, receive, organize, rotate, merchandise, and present products; execute Winning Conditions as required. Policy and Regulatory Adherence β Lead implementation of corporate policies, initiatives, SOPs; ensure compliance and timely documentation; implement and maintain OH&S, food safety, and other regulatory requirements. Financial β Directly responsible for achieving financial targets, maximizing sales and margins; conduct sales forecasting, variance analysis, and correction; control labor costs; manage the department budget.
Personal and Professional Development β Stay current with company programs, training; monitor competitor activity and industry trends; make recommendations on pricing, promotions, and product policies. Employee Engagement β Act as employer of choice, support employee engagement; initiate, support, and lead community and charitable events. Other Duties β Coordinate maintenance of department equipment and repairs; provide feedback for continuous improvement; maintain a clean and safe working environment; perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications Above average communication skills (oral and written). Full knowledge of department operations and skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
