Job Description

Job Announcement The City of Chandler Police Department, Planning and Research Section, is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as the Management Analyst Senior. This position administers assigned administrative systems and programs, with a primary focus on grant management and compliance, while performing advanced data evaluation and strategic assessment. Serves as the primary contact for grant application submittals and reporting to federal, state, and local agencies regarding grants and will maintain a central repository and tracking function for grants.

Monitors grant budget activity, expenditures, encumbrances, and overtime trends to ensure accuracy and correct as necessary, including journal entries, budget transfer requests, and prior payroll adjustments. The incumbent will also analyze complex data to support decision making, informing stakeholders through clear reporting and communication. Supports special projects and initiatives through ongoing analysis and coordination as assigned.

This is a regular full‑time, exempt position with benefits. The anticipated work schedule for this position may be 5x8, 9x80, or 4x10, depending on employee’s preference. Evaluates financial and operational data to support budgeting, grant management, and decision making. Develops complex data, financial, and capital improvement projects; provides analysis reporting and recommendations. Coordinates intergovernmental agreements and Memorandums of Understanding.

Prepares presentations and publications. Administers forfeiture funds, including reporting compliance. Conducts and responds to surveys.

Minimum Qualifications Must possess a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, public administration, business administration or related field. Must possess at least 4 years of work experience in municipal accounting, finance, budgeting and/or project/program management, or research and analysis in areas such as budget, grants, capital improvement programs, staffing and deployment analysis. Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities can substitute for the above qualifications.
