Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) - Leeds, West Yorkshire - 55,000 Monday to Friday Training & Progression Weekend off A well-established food manufacturer in Leeds is looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a tight-knit maintenance team on a stable, growing site. This isn't just fire fighting, the team is structured around planned maintenance, reliability improvement and continuous improvement, with real time built in to work on things properly. You’ll be working across automated food processing lines, fault‑finding on motors, drives, sensors and PLC‑controlled systems, with mechanical support across pneumatics and hydraulics. The site operates to strict food safety and hygiene standards, so experience working within a BRC or similar accredited environment is a real advantage. What the kit looks like Electrical: motors, drives, sensors, control panels, PLCs Mechanical: pneumatics, hydraulics, food processing and packaging lines Systems: PPM schedules, permit to work, safe isolation, food safety compliance What they're looking for Maintenance Engineer background in food manufacturing, FMCG or a similarly fast‑paced, high‑volume environment Strong electrical fault‑finding ability: motors, drives, sensors, control panels PLC fault‑finding experience Mechanical skills across pneumatics and hydraulics NVQ Level 3 or time‑served apprenticeship in Engineering The site has a strong internal reputation for stability and investment. The engineering team is well‑resourced, well‑regarded and given genuine autonomy to work professionally. Training pathways and internal progression are on the table for those who want them.
