Maintenance Engineer

We are currently supporting a well-established manufacturing business based in Thurmaston, Leicester who are looking to add an electrically biased Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer to their engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a stable, well‑invested manufacturing site where engineers are trusted to take ownership of maintenance and improvement activities across the plant. The role operates on a double days shift pattern (6am‑2pm / 2pm‑10pm) with one week of nights every five weeks.

The night shift week consists of four x 8‑hour shifts, providing a balanced and manageable rotation. The Role You will be responsible for supporting the site through a mixture of reactive maintenance, planned preventative maintenance and continuous improvement activity. Working closely with production teams, you will play a key role in ensuring machinery uptime and driving reliability across the facility.

Typical responsibilities include: Electrical and mechanical fault finding on manufacturing equipment Supporting PPM schedules and planned engineering work Diagnosing faults on motors, sensors, drives, relays and control systems Working with production teams to minimise downtime and improve performance Supporting continuous improvement and reliability initiatives across the site What We're Looking For We're keen to speak with engineers who have experience within manufacturing or production environments, ideally with a strong electrical skillset. Experience fault finding on three‑phase electrical systems Strong problem‑solving ability within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment A proactive attitude towards maintenance and reliability Electrical qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds / HNC or equivalent would be advantageous.
