Land Acquisition Consultant

Job Overview We’re seeking a driven Land Acquisition Expert to identify and secure suitable greenfield & lower-grade agricultural land for utility-scale ground-mounted solar PV projects. You’ll own end-to-end land origination, stakeholder engagement, due diligence and negotiation, supporting our rapid renewable project pipeline. Key Responsibilities Source, evaluate and prioritize viable greenfield land parcels for solar PV development, aligned with UK planning policy (NPPF, NPS EN-3) and grid access feasibility.

Conduct site assessments, title reviews, environmental & topographical due diligence, and GIS analysis to validate site suitability. Build and nurture relationships with landowners, land agents, promoters and local stakeholders to secure project access. Negotiate and finalize commercial agreements: exclusivity, heads of terms, option agreements, leases, wayleaves and easements.

Collaborate with planning, grid, engineering and project teams to advance sites through pre-development stages. Maintain a robust project pipeline, track progress and deliver regular reporting to leadership. Monitor UK renewable planning rules, land market trends and policy updates to inform acquisition strategy.

What We’re Looking For Executive : 1–3 years’ experience in land acquisition, real estate or renewable energy development; basic knowledge of UK land processes. Expert / Consultant : 3+ years’ track record securing land for UK ground-mounted solar / renewable projects; proven end-to-end delivery. Deep understanding of UK planning policy for solar farms, agricultural land hierarchy (BMV land guidelines) and grid connection basics.

Strong negotiation, stakeholder management and contract coordination skills. Ability to conduct site visits, manage multiple projects and work independently. Full UK driving license and willingness to travel nationally. (Preferred) Experience with GIS tools, land due diligence or solar project development.
