We are currently seeking a Junior Terraform Developer – Remote position in the United States, preferably based in Austin, TX.
Eligibility Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent U.S. resident (Green Card holder). Must be based in the U.S.; open to remote work from any U.S. location. FBI CJIS Background check is administered every 12 months.
Role Responsibilities Write, review, and maintain Terraform code (HCL) for provisioning and managing infrastructure on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Utilize Terraform Enterprise (TFE) features, including setting up and managing workspaces, managing state files securely, and implementing governance policies. Help implement and adhere to best practices for Infrastructure as Code, ensuring code quality and reusability.
Work with DevOps engineers and cloud architects to translate requirements into automated infrastructure. Support the integration of Terraform into continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines. Resolve operational issues related to deployed infrastructure and Terraform configurations.
Develop basic Terraform configurations, modules, and scripts for provisioning cloud resources. Help set up and manage production Terraform Enterprise environments. Debug and resolve issues with infrastructure deployments.
Maintain and enhance existing Terraform codebase. Develop Terraform modules to be hosted on a Terraform Enterprise registry. Continuously improve infrastructure using the latest technologies and industry best practices.
Document infrastructure code and processes. Required Qualifications 3+ years of Terraform experience, including at least 1 year of Terraform development or equivalent education. Experience with Terraform syntax, modules, and state management.
Experience deploying Terraform Workspaces and setting Hashi Sentinel policies. Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Basic scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python).
Highly Preferred Qualifications Understanding of CI/CD principles and DevOps workflows. Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Specialization in at least one cloud provider; multi-cloud knowledge is a plus.
Understanding of programming fundamentals. Terraform Associate or similar certification. Personal Attributes Strategic thinker with attention to technical detail.
Passion for developing reusable frameworks and automation. Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Compensation & Benefits The starting pay range for this remote role is $78,000 – $120,000, reflecting the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all U.S. locations. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as work location, experience, technical skills, and other qualifications. This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance.
If the position is offered on a temporary basis, incentive compensation is not applicable.
