Location Toronto, ON or Calgary, AB Travel Approximately 50% international travel required to support operations in key business regions. Summary Reporting directly to the Group President, the International Business Analyst (IBA) will play a critical role in shaping and executing Mattr’s global strategic direction. You will drive strategic initiatives, deliver data‑driven insights, and support high‑impact decisions that advance business growth, operational performance, and transformation efforts.
This is a fast‑track leadership role offering immediate exposure to executive‑level strategy and M&A, structured to transition you into a high‑impact operational leadership role within 12 to 18 months. Responsibilities Reporting directly to Group President, working to clearly define the Company’s strategic objectives/initiatives and to plan, manage and carry out a course of action to achieve these objectives. Document and prepare Business Plans and decision support documents aligned with strategic objectives.
Assist the strategic planning and direction to ensure planning and governance of modernization initiatives, and coordination of transformation initiatives between business units and teams. Perform system modeling, analysis, and project‑oriented engineering activities for automation, modernization and optimization of current practices. Research on best practices and industry trends for Mattr Global, with in depth analysis of existing workflows and identify areas for modernization, optimization and expansion.
Update Quarterly, Board Meeting and annual internal Management reporting packages. Data collection and analysis to support strategy and initiatives including manipulating data and data mining as well as translating complex data into user friendly reports, graphs, charts or models. Track and report strategic initiative execution and implementation against KPIs.
Work with stakeholders to form KPIs/Market Indicators based on forecasted business plans and monitor and report on those KPIs/Market Indicators routinely. Report to Management on progress, issues and solutions that could impact operations and delivery of business plans. Competitor Intelligence Tracking (Annual Sales, new products, major news) Key Markets & Projects - track and report major news or planned projects within a specific market space.
Support planning and analysis activities by leading the development of detailed evaluations of projects. Support Market sizing (SAM, TAM, percent share, across products across all product portfolios including relevant market research/data). Revenue by Market Updates for Mattr Globally (monthly).
M&A (30%) M&A Analyst (own M&A funnel, inputs, support open M&A projects) Support the preparation of oral and written presentations for Senior Management which present analysis and conclusions in a clear and concise manner. Provide support to the existing business and to M&A activity, working closely with multi‑disciplined stakeholders to understand and communicate how the various business choices impact Mattr. Provide analytical and project management support throughout the transaction process from due diligence to portfolio integration.
Maintain databases to monitor M&A activity/deal funnel, financing activity, current and developing legislation and other industry trends. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering combined with a Master’s degree in Business or related discipline. Minimum 5 years of directly relevant experience in strategy and analytics within Energy, Infrastructure, EPC or related industry.
Demonstrated ability to act as a trusted business partner across functions. Strong ability to navigate ambiguity and simplify complex challenges. Proven experience improving processes and systems with measurable outcomes.
Experience in strategic planning, financial analysis, and valuations. Solid understanding of corporate finance and performance management frameworks. Strong project management experience delivering complex analytical initiatives.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools. Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and collaboration skills. Experience working with global, cross‑functional teams.
Compensation Range CAD $100,000 – $135,000. The range represents the anticipated base salary and target incentive. The final total compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s skills, experience, qualifications and internal equity considerations.
