POSITION SUMMARY The Hub Manager at Canpar Express is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the facility, ensuring timely movement of freight across the network while meeting service commitments and customer expectations. This role oversees all inbound, sortation, and outbound activities, with a strong emphasis on Health & Safety leadership , operational excellence, and team development. The Hub Manager plays a critical role in maintaining Canpar Express’ reputation for reliable parcel delivery across Canada. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Full accountability for hub operations, ensuring on-time delivery, scan compliance, and accurate freight handling Champion and enforce a “Safety First” culture, ensuring strict adherence to Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) requirements and Canpar Express safety policies and procedures Conduct regular safety inspections, hazard assessments, and incident investigations, ensuring root cause analysis and corrective actions are implemented promptly Ensure compliance with safety standards, and safe material handling practices within the hub. Monitor hub performance using key KPIs (service, productivity, cost, and safety) and drive continuous improvement initiatives Manage labor planning, scheduling, and workforce productivity to align with parcel volumes Provide leadership and coaching to supervisors and frontline employees, fostering a high-performance and accountable team environment Collaborate with linehaul, last-mile operations, and customer service teams to ensure seamless network execution Ensure compliance with company policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and any applicable collective agreements Support employee engagement initiatives and contribute to a positive workplace culture MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED 5+ years of supervisory or management experience in courier, parcel, or warehouse operations Strong knowledge of Ontario Health & Safety legislation and experience implementing workplace safety programs Proven ability to lead operations in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment Experience with performance metrics, operational KPIs, and continuous improvement practices Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to respond quickly to operational and safety challenges Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to engage diverse teams Proficiency in Microsoft Office and transportation/warehouse systems WHAT SETS YOU APART Post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain management, or business is an asset Health & Safety certifications (e.g., JHSC Certification, COR, or equivalent) Experience in a unionized environment Knowledge of linehaul coordination, last-mile delivery networks, and cross-docking operations First Aid/CPR certification and experience with emergency response planning TO APPLY Interested applicants who meet the above criteria are requested to submit their resume.
