Location: Leeds City Centre (Hybrid – Monthly Office Visits) We’re supporting a forward-thinking, high-growth organisation in the search for a Head of Development, a strategic leadership role with real influence across technology, product, and business direction. This is more than a leadership position. The Opportunity As Head of Development, you will take full ownership of the development function, setting the vision, driving delivery, and building a culture of excellence. You’ll work closely with senior leadership to align technical strategy with commercial goals, while empowering teams to innovate, scale, and deliver at pace. With a flexible model requiring monthly visits to Leeds city centre, this role offers both autonomy and meaningful collaboration.
Key Responsibilities: Define and lead the development strategy, architecture, and technical roadmap. Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing engineering team. Drive best practices across coding standards, CI/CD, testing, and delivery.
Oversee the development lifecycle, from concept through to deployment and optimisation. Collaborate with Product, Design, and senior stakeholders to deliver business-critical solutions. Ensure systems are scalable, secure, and future-proof.
Identify opportunities for innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement. What We’re Looking For: Proven experience in a Head of Development / Engineering leadership role. Strong technical background with hands‑on understanding of modern development stacks.
Experience scaling teams and delivering complex digital platforms or products. A strategic mindset with the ability to translate vision into execution. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
