Job Description – Head of Department (English) Dalhousie Campus Position: Head of Department (English) Reporting To: Principal / Vice Principal Role Overview The Head of Department (English) will provide academic leadership to the English Department, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement. The role involves curriculum planning, faculty mentoring, academic monitoring, and promoting a culture of reading, writing, and effective communication. As a residential school leader, the candidate will also play an active role in the pastoral care and holistic development of students.

Qualifications & Experience · Master's Degree in English with B.Ed. · Minimum 10–15 years of teaching experience in reputed schools. · At least 5 years of experience in an academic leadership role. · Mandatory boarding/residential school experience. · Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Key Responsibilities · Lead and manage the English Department across middle and senior school. · Ensure effective curriculum delivery, lesson planning, and assessments. · Mentor and evaluate English faculty to maintain academic excellence. · Monitor student performance and implement improvement strategies. · Organize literary activities, debates, public speaking events, and language enrichment programmes. · Review examination papers, assessments, and departmental documentation. · Participate actively in boarding school life, student mentoring, and pastoral care. · Engage with parents regarding academic progress and student development.
