Position Summary The General Manager of operations is a highly visible leadership role responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, operations, compliance, and financial results of a designated operation. The GM serves as the primary customer interface for leadership decisions regarding proposal approval and contract negotiations. This role champions local continuous improvement activities, LEAN practices, supply chain analysis, Six Sigma initiatives, and ISO activities.

The GM also develops marketing plans, assists in growing new business, and ensures the operation adheres to the company’s mission, vision, and core values while consistently meeting client and company expectations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Ensure systems and procedures are in place for managing operations, equipment, and products safely and profitably in accordance with company policies. Lead operations to meet prescribed productivity and service goals, complying with site operating agreements.

Set goals to drive company continuous improvement efforts. Develop and maintain productive business relations with vendors, suppliers, and partners; ensure OSHA and regulatory compliance. Assist in setting standards appropriate to client and scope of work.

Develop and manage a system of controls to ensure service level and performance goals are met within cost, revenue, and profit parameters. Partner with senior leadership to develop and recommend the annual operating budget. Responsible for the overall safety and security of the operation.

Develop a team to achieve company and client objectives. Support mentoring, succession planning, and management development activities at the site level. Communicate the mission, vision, and core values to motivate direct reports.

Management Information Systems Proactively develop plans and capital requests to ensure appropriate automation/technology levels to service the client. Ensure necessary software and hardware are purchased in accordance with corporate IT policies and remain knowledgeable about technology changes. Customer Management Act as site-level champion of client relationship management.

Ensure client accounts receive required operational and administrative support, maintain contact with all functions, respond to requests, and lead business reviews with client and company representatives. Marketing & Sales Participate and assist Director and other resources in planning new account strategies, prospecting for opportunities, generating positive word of mouth, and assisting in the development of quoting rates. Budgeting & Financials Develop and maintain the annual operating budget, manage controls to achieve service level and performance goals within cost, revenue, and profit parameters, and ensure compliance with contract guidelines.

Equipment & Facilities Manage maintenance programs for sanitation, security, housekeeping, safety, and material handling equipment. Ensure proper training for MHE and keep informed of new technology. Safety Achieve company safety goals, audit warehouses for compliance with safety, security, and quality principles, and adhere to all statutory health and safety requirements.

Other Duties Work overtime as dictated by business. Perform other duties as required. Supervisory Responsibilities Manage operations managers.

Skills & Abilities Education and/or Experience High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred. 7 years’ experience in logistics/distribution/relevant environment. 5 years’ experience in a leadership role in logistics/distribution/supply chain operations management. Ability to work in unregulated temperatures within warehouse conditions.

Computer Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Demonstrated proficiency with applicable WMS systems. Language Skills English (reading, writing, verbal).

Proficiency in business communication at all levels. Other Strong attention to detail and timely job completion. Good organizational, personnel, communication, and leadership skills.

Advanced level expertise in accounting and financial mathematics related to P&L and budgeting. Ability to motivate self and others, adapt to change, and build effective relationships.
