The General Manager of Lone Star Court , Valencia Hotel Groupâs first âcourtâstyleâ boutique hotel concept located at The Domain in Austin, serves as the propertyâs chief cultureâbuilder, operational leader, and financial steward.
Lone Star Court blends an authentically Austin, retroâmotorâcourt aesthetic with modern comfortâfeaturing 123 vintageâinspired rooms, live music by the fire pit, a dipping pool reminiscent of Hill Country swimming holes, and signature dining at The Water Trough. The General Manager is responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience rooted in Timeless HospitalityÂŽ , cultivating a highâperformance culture, driving topâline revenue, safeguarding financial controls, and maintaining the propertyâs unique Texasâinspired brand identity. Essential Duties & Responsibilities 1.
Culture, Leadership & Employee Development Build and sustain a positive, empowered, and accountable workplace culture aligned with Valencia Hotel Group values and the Austin personality of Lone Star Court. Demonstrate servant leadership that promotes trust, collaboration, and engagement across all departments. Oversee consistent onboarding, training, and employee development in partnership with Corporate Training.
Mentor department leaders and highâpotential associates to support internal advancement and succession planning. Maintain an inclusive, ethical, and fair work environment aligned with VHG standards. 2. Operational Excellence & Guest Experience Lead daily operations to deliver memorable experiences that reflect the hotelâs âAmericana meets Texas Hill Countryâ atmosphere.
Conduct regular property inspections to ensure service execution, employee engagement, maintenance standards, and safety compliance. Utilize guest feedback, review platforms, and internal operational audits to drive continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and hospitality regulations. 3.
Financial Leadership & Controls Maintain full P&L responsibility, ensuring optimal profitability while retaining the brandâs service and experiential standards. Implement and oversee financial controls including labor, purchasing, inventory, and loss prevention. Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning initiatives.
Analyze financial statements and take timely corrective action to optimize GOP, RevPAR, and flowâthrough. Ensure proper management of payroll, internal audits, and preventative maintenance programs. 4. Revenue Optimization & Market Performance Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Management to maximize topâline revenue and strategically position Lone Star Court within the highly competitive Austin hospitality market.
Capitalize on demand generated by The Domain shopping and entertainment districtâone of Austinâs busiest mixedâuse developments. Oversee F&B operationsâincluding The Water Trough restaurant and barâto ensure brand alignment and profitability. Identify partnerships, activations, and community events that reinforce the brand and attract locals and travelers. 5.
Brand Stewardship & Community Engagement Uphold Lone Star Courtâs distinctive retroâinspired, Austinâcentric design and hospitality ethos across all guest touchpoints. Serve as the property ambassador within the Austin community, fostering strong relationships with local businesses, tourism groups, and cultural organizations. Participate in Valencia Hotel Group leadership initiatives and contribute to companywide operational excellence.
Qualifications & Requirements 7â10+ years of progressive leadership experience in boutique, lifestyle, or fullâservice hotels. Proven success in leading culture, developing teams, and driving operational results. Strong financial acumen with demonstrated P&L management.
Experience enhancing guest satisfaction, service consistency, and operational KPI performance. Excellent leadership, communication, collaboration, and conflictâresolution skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and hospitality platforms (PMS, POS, reporting systems).
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed. Ability to travel for corporate engagement, training, and special assignments. Success Measures Culture & Leadership: Engagement, turnover, internal growth, leadership effectiveness.
Financial Performance: GOP, RevPAR, budget adherence, cost controls. Guest Experience: Service scores, review sentiment, complaint resolution. Operational Excellence: Audit results, safety and regulatory compliance, property condition.
