ROLE OVERVIEW GreenShield Cares is at a critical growth point as it scales national impact through GreenShield’s Creating Shared Value (CSV) model, leveraging external capital to match organizational social impact investment.

This approach is key to achieving GreenShield’s ambition of deploying $200M in social impact to reach three million Canadians by 2030, The Foundation Manager plays a pivotal role in this phase, advancing partnerships, strengthening the ecosystem, and enabling the growth of high-impact programs by securing co-investment, convening partners, and advancing opportunities that position GreenShield as a catalytic leader. Reporting to the Foundation Principal, the Foundation Manager is responsible for building and activating a strong partnership pipeline, managing funder relationships, and advancing pilot opportunities from concept through to scale. As a builder and operator, the role focuses on execution, partnership development, and pipeline growth, while bringing structure and rigour to match funding as a repeatable organizational capability.

This includes maintaining the systems and processes that support consistent and credible co-investment, tracking pipeline performance, and ensuring readiness for partner engagement and investment. The role requires a disciplined, relationship-oriented approach, combining strategic insight with strong execution to sustain momentum and deliver measurable impact. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Pipeline Strategy and Development: Develop and manage a strong funding pipeline to deliver short-term wins and long-term growth.

Execute match funding strategy across grants, pilots, and partnerships. Research opportunities and prepare proposals aligned to Signature Initiatives. Partnership Stewardship: Build and sustain strong, senior-level values‑aligned relationships that drive confidence, continuity, and repeat investment.

Manage relationships with foundation, corporate, government, and philanthropic partners. Oversee reporting, touchpoints, and renewal planning. Pilot Design & Stakeholder Convening: Support the design, launch, and advancement of pilots while aligning internal and external stakeholders around shared outcomes.

Translate pilot outcomes into compelling cases for scale. Align internal and external stakeholders on objectives and pathways to scale. Ecosystem and Thought Leadership: Provide support to strengthen GreenShield’s visibility and influence in the health equity ecosystem.

Monitor health equity trends and provide insights to inform strategy. Support external communications and partner storytelling. Represent organization at sector events and engagements.

Reporting, Analysis, and Governance: Ensure high‑quality decision‑making, accountability, and risk management through disciplined reporting, insight generation, and governance practices. Maintain pipeline data and track performance metrics (conversion, timelines, risk). Prepare internal and Board-level reporting focused on outcomes and progress.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION Undergraduate degree in related field, such as Public Policy and Administration, Business Administration, Social Innovation, Health Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Experience Six to ten years of progressive experience in philanthropy, foundation management, social impact investing, partnerships, or nonprofit/business development roles. Demonstrated experience building and advancing funding or partnership pipelines, including prospecting, qualification, stewardship, and renewal.

Experience managing external funder relationships (foundation, corporate, government, or philanthropic), with the ability to build confidence, credibility, and long-term investment relationships. Strong research and analytical skills to identify, assess, and prioritize funding opportunities aligned with strategic initiatives. Understanding of partnership structures, pilot pathways, and mechanisms for moving from experimentation to scale.

Synthesis skills to translate complex outcomes, pilot results, and data into compelling partner narratives. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop proposals, briefing materials, and partner communications, and to effectively represent the organization in meetings, convenings, and external engagements Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously while meeting timelines and quality standards. Collaborative working style with the ability to navigate matrixed teams and shared ownership environments.

Operate as a builder and executor, driving momentum, advancing opportunities, and delivering outcomes independently. Think strategically while managing day‑to‑day execution and operational detail. Prioritize effectively across near-term wins and longer-term scale opportunities.
