Location & Remote Policy Location: Remote (Canada). Although we have an office in Calgary, the position is open to candidates across Canada. Our office is located on the unceded and traditional territories of the peoples of the Treaty 7 region, including the Siksika, Piikani, Kainai, Ăethka Stoney Nakoda, and Tsuutâina First Nations.
It also respects the historic Northwest MĂ©tis and other MĂ©tis territories. Job Summary PurposeMed is building technology that meaningfully improves access to care, and we need strong engineering leadership to help us do it well. As an Engineering Manager reporting to the CTO, you will drive project execution, team management, and technical tradeâoffs across our software platform.
Responsibilities Leading and Mentoring a HighâPerforming Engineering Team Guide and mentor engineering team members with 1:1 coaching and performance reviews. Create a positive, diverse, and inclusive environment. Foster strong relationships and effective communication with crossâfunctional teams and stakeholders.
Driving Operational Excellence Across your Pod Collaborate with Product, Design, and Data leadership to improve workflows within our POD/Triad model. Lead your podâs processes and ensure effective collaboration with other teams. Communicate ongoing initiatives and blockers, prioritizing tasks for development success.
Shaping Technical Strategy and Delivering HighâQuality Systems Support the technical strategy and collaborate with the team on product technical direction. Drive efficient delivery of highâquality features, balancing speed with scalable and maintainable architecture. Create technical diagrams and document key technical decisions and strategy.
Qualifications 5+ years of Software Engineering experience with a focus on platform development and infrastructure. 2+ years of engineering management experience, supporting and guiding direct reports. Experience with distributed systems, cloud computing, and scaling infrastructure (e.g., GCP, thirdâparty system integrations, data systems). Excellent communication skills for conveying complex technical ideas to both technical and nonâtechnical audiences.
Experience with tradeâoffs ranging from rapid prototyping to multiâquarter technology shifts. Experience integrating AI within the development process. Nice to Have Experience managing relationships with external vendors and account managers.
Passion for platform services and providing developers with the tools and infrastructure to deliver value. Compensation Annual base salary $140,000â$170,000 CAD (may vary with qualifications, experience, and market conditions). Stock options through our Equity Incentive Plan.
