Engineering Manager, Growth Engineering
Chime Financial, Inc
Job Description
Chime serves millions of members on a mission to help them unlock financial progress. Growth Engineering builds the product surfaces and systems that turn that mission into measurable outcomes for members. The Late Stage Experience team focuses on members who are already part of Chime.
People who've chosen us, use us regularly, and have built trust with us over time. Our job is to help them get more out of Chime, and to deepen the relationship in ways that benefit both the member and the business. It's a different kind of growth problem.
Most growth work is about acquiring or activating new users. This team works further down the journey, where the dynamics are subtler, the signals are richer, and the playbook is still being written. You'll lead a team of engineers shaping how that work gets done.
Why this role A meaningful problem. Helping engaged members get more value over time is one of the highest-leverage things we can do for members and for the business. Real ownership.
This is a newer team with clear executive support and meaningful surface area. You'll have room to shape both the technical direction and the team itself. Strong cross-functional partners.
You'll work day‑day with senior Product, Analytics, Marketing, Design, and Data leaders who are deep in the problem. A team to build. You'll hire, coach, and grow a group of engineers, and define the culture as it scales.
The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $199,000.00 and up to $275,000.00. Full‑time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
In this role, you can expect to Lead and develop a team of engineers, fostering a high‑performing and inclusive culture. Partner cross‑functionally to define and execute on growth strategies for the team's focus area. Drive experimentation strategy and execution by building the systems and habits to test, learn, and iterate quickly.
Make the calls on speed vs. durability in a fast‑paced, experiment‑driven environment. Contribute to technical direction and architecture decisions that support scalable growth. Help shape the roadmap and long‑term vision for Growth Engineering, with potential to expand scope over time.
To thrive in this role, you have Managed engineering teams working on growth, conversion, retention, or other consumer product problems. Experience running experimentation programs, including test design, analysis, and iterating on results. Strong track record of partnering with Product, Design, and Data to drive data‑informed decisions.
Experience hiring and growing engineers in ambiguous, fast‑moving environments. A bias toward ownership and action over process. What we offer for our full‑time, regular employees Our in‑office work policy is designed to keep you connected – with four days a week in the office and Fridays from home for those near one of our offices, plus team and company‑wide events depending on location.
Whether you’re coming in regularly or are part of our fully remote program, you’ll stay engaged with your work and teammates. In‑office perks including backup child, elder, and/or pet care, plus a subsidized commuter benefit to support your regular commute. Competitive salary based on experience. 401k match plus great medical, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
Generous vacation policy and company‑wide Chime Days, bonus company‑wide paid days off. 1% of your time off to support local community organizations of your choice. Annual wellness stipend to use towards eligible wellness related expenses. Up to 24 weeks of paid parental leave for birthing parents and 12 weeks of paid parental leave for non‑birthing parents.
Access to Maven, a family planning tool, with $15k lifetime reimbursement for egg freezing, fertility treatments, adoption, and more. In‑person and virtual events to connect with your fellow Chimers—think cooking classes, guided meditations, music festivals, mixology classes, paint nights, etc., and delicious snack boxes, too! A challenging and fulfilling opportunity to join one of the most experienced teams in FinTech and help millions unlock financial progress.
We know that great work can’t be done without a diverse team and inclusive environment. That’s why we specifically look for individuals of varying strengths, skills, backgrounds, and ideas to join our team. We believe this gives us a competitive advantage to better serve our members and helps us all grow as Chimers and individuals.
