Engineering Manager

About the Role We are looking for a highly technical, hands-on Engineering Manager with a strong background in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and Spring Batch , who has evolved from a Solution Architect/Lead role into engineering management . This is not a pure people management role — we need a techno-manager who actively contributes to architecture, design, and critical coding decisions , especially within large-scale BFSI (Banking/Financial Services) systems . Mandatory Experience (Strict Filters) 15+ years of total experience in software engineering Current or recent Engineering Manager / Tech Manager role (3+ years) Prior hands-on experience as Solution Architect / Technical Lead (must-have) Strong experience in BFSI domain Deep expertise in: Java (8+) Spring Boot & Spring Framework Microservices Architecture Spring Batch (mandatory) Proven experience in building and scaling distributed systems Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership (Primary Focus) Drive architecture, design, and development of scalable banking platforms Lead monolith to microservices transformation initiatives Define and enforce architecture standards, design patterns, and best practices Actively contribute to code reviews, design discussions, and critical problem-solving Design and develop high-performance batch processing systems using Spring Batch Build and govern RESTful APIs and enterprise integrations Transformation & Modernization Lead cloud migration and API-first transformation programs Drive adoption of: Microservices Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) Event-driven architecture (Kafka/RabbitMQ) Improve system reliability through: Circuit breakers Resilience patterns Observability and monitoring Performance & Reliability Engineering Own performance tuning and optimization across applications Identify and resolve: Memory leaks Latency issues DB/query bottlenecks Implement monitoring using tools like AppDynamics / Dynatrace / similar People & Delivery Leadership Lead and mentor a team of engineers (dev + QA) Drive end-to-end delivery ownership for critical banking applications Conduct performance reviews, career development, and technical mentoring Collaborate with product, business, and senior stakeholders Ensure delivery aligned with regulatory and security standards in BFSI Technical Skills (Must-Have) Java, Spring Boot, Spring Framework Spring Batch (mandatory – strong hands-on required) Microservices & Distributed Systems REST APIs & Integration patterns Messaging systems (Kafka / RabbitMQ) Cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP) Docker & Kubernetes CI/CD pipelines Good to Have (Strong Advantage) Experience in banking transformation programs (API-first, platform modernization) Exposure to AI/ML, automation, or GenAI use cases in enterprise systems Experience with performance monitoring tools (AppDynamics preferred) Knowledge of security standards (OAuth2, JWT, encryption)
