About This Role The Heat Transfer Group in Carrierâs Mechanical Center of Excellence is seeking a motivated, resultsâoriented and experienced engineer to join our team. As an Engineer in the Heat Transfer Group, you will apply stateâofâart design and simulation tools to optimize heat exchanger performance in HVAC&R systems.
You will utilize a variety of heat transfer test facilities to characterize heat exchanger performance and generate fundamental data for the improvement of modeling and design tools. You will work closely with global product development teams and crossâfunctional partners to insert new heat transfer technologies into Carrier products, leveraging expertise in heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics, including both singleâphase and twoâphase flows. You will grow professionally to become a key contributor to strategic heat transfer technology initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Contribute to heatâtransfer focused projects and assist in heatâexchanger technology initiatives. Support benchmarking, development, validation, and implementation of advanced heatâexchanger technologies. Evaluate heatâexchanger designs and heatâtransfer surface concepts using analytical and experimental methods.
Utilize experimental test facilities; develop test methodologies; plan and supervise experiments; ensure quality data acquisition; and perform relevant data reduction. Assist in developing stateâofâart design and simulation tools; plan and conduct experiments for calibration and validation of modelling tools. Provide support to product engineering teams to ensure proper application of new heatâtransfer technologies throughout the product development cycle.
Generate written technical reports and standard work instructions. Conduct presentations for engineering and business personnel. Basic Qualifications Bachelorâs degree in Engineering. 1+ year of engineering internship experience in addition to 1+ year of professional engineering experience.
Preferred Qualifications (nice to have) Masterâs or Ph.D. Degree in Engineering. Knowledge of the fundamentals of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics as well as heat transfer and heatâexchanger design.
Knowledge of twoâphase flow phenomena (liquidâgas), heat transfer, and hydraulic resistance concepts. Experience in mechanical and thermal design using numerical and analytical models; CFD/FEA familiarity is a plus. Experience in computer programming languages; EES and MATLAB.
Good communication and organization skills. Ability to manage critical tasks and complete assignments in a timely manner. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Ability to creatively overcome obstacles to achieve project objectives. Additional Information Immigration sponsorship is not supported for this position. Pay Range The annual salary for this position is between $64,500.00 and $129,500.00 per year.
Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
