Job Description

Overview Duration: 1 year term with the possibility of extension. Position type: On site hybrid (Mon, Tue, Thu in office). Location: Edmonton This operating position is to support and maintain existing and future External Leak Detection Systems (ELDS) installed by our client's TIS PCSLD Leak Detection and owned by the Facilities & HCA LD Program.

The Facilities & HCA LD Program works to mitigate the leak risk in facilities, remote sites, and high consequence areas that don’t meet internal risk targets by deploying ELDS. The program works with stakeholders such as LP Risk Management, Pipeline Integrity, and Facilities Integrity to identify priority locations and implement fit‑for‑purpose solutions. Current ELD systems include multiple installations of: EVTeam Hydrocarbon Sensing Cables, Hifi Engineering Fiber Optic Cable, and GE ThreatScan.

Role Requirements Engineering or technologist degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in Electrical or Computer Engineering. EIT I, EIT II, or equivalent. Proficient in using Office Suite; knowledge of Power BI is an asset.

Excellent communication, problem‑solving and critical thinking skills. Primarily office‑based role with the occasional need to travel. Ability to travel to the United States.

The role is designed for regular business hours. Responsibilities Daily and weekly system performance monitoring and reporting of all the existing installed ELDS Early identification of system performance issues that may lead to a false alarm. Collect information on alarm count, system uptime, and any issues that are outstanding or resolved from PI, PI Vision, Field HMIs, Hifi HDS and ELIS UI.

Prepare performance report of all the existing installed ELDS and distribute the reports to LD Management and Facilities & HCA LD team. ELDS troubleshooting (as needed) Troubleshoot ELDS alarms, identify leading issues with the ELDS and propose solutions to rectify the issues. Work with Field Operations, Controls/Network team, ELDS vendors, and Facilities & HCA LD team to finalize and implement solutions for identified ELDS issues.

Track and record the issues and resolutions in JIRA. Perform re‑calibration of ELDS when needed. Spare record maintenance Maintain sensor/equipment spare inventory count and stored location for each installation.

Order spares as needed, and track the delivery through working with vendors, Field Operations and Facilities and HCA LD team. Annual ELDS performance testing support Work with department staff to ensure ELD systems are included and compliant with our client's documentation. Coordinate and work directly with Field Operations to ensure ELDS testing is completed effectively and timely.

Collect required data from testing and report the outcome (pass/fail with any details needed) to appropriate parties, including the Facilities & HCA LD team and the LD Testing team. Ensure annual testing reports are properly recorded and stored in Maximo/JIRA. Maintain PM procedures (revise when needed and re‑distribute following the management of change processes).

Contribute to compliance audits as required, by providing testing and commissioning records. Project support Provide recommendations to Facilities & HCA LD team on system improvements for future installations. Review and approve reliability period on new installs. #J-18808-Ljbffr
