Emergency Medicine APP Needed in Texas (Level II Trauma) Target Start Date: April 7, 2026 Contract Length: 13 week locum tenens assignment (potential ongoing need) Schedule Coverage Type: Scheduled clinical hours only Shift Structure: A variety of day, evening, and overnight shifts, including weekends. Monday Wednesday Shifts: 6:00 AM 4:00 PM 8:00 AM 6:00 PM 12:00 PM 10:00 PM 2:00 PM 12:00 AM 4:00 PM 2:00 AM 8:00 PM 6:00 AM Thursday Sunday Shifts: 6:00 AM 4:00 PM 8:00 AM 6:00 PM 2:00 PM 12:00 AM 4:00 PM 2:00 AM 8:00 PM 6:00 AM Call: None Orientation: If experienced with Meditech: 1 orientation shift + 2 shadow shifts Practice Details Setting: High volume Emergency Department within an acute care hospital Hospital Size: 423 beds ED Beds: 49 Annual ED Volume: 70,000 visits Admissions: 25% Patient Population: Urban Trauma Level: Level II Support Staff: 2 3 EM physicians per shift Single coverage periods overnight and early morning Full multi specialty consultant backup 24/7 EMR: Meditech Clinical Scope Includes: Standard emergency medicine procedures Management of high acuity trauma and medical emergencies Coordination with trauma surgeons (24/7 onsite) Care within a Comprehensive Stroke Center and Primary Chest Pain Center Common Cases: Full spectrum emergency presentations Trauma, stroke, cardiac, and high acuity medical cases Requirements Board Certification: Required (ABEM prepared/certified preferred) License: Active Texas license required (not willing to license) Certifications: ACLS, PALS, ATLS Experience: High volume ED experience Level II trauma experience required Case Logs: Required for requested EM privileges Credentialing Timeframe: Minimum 90 days Name Clear: Required prior to submission Location Houston, Texas High volume Level II trauma Emergency Department within a large acute care hospital; local or travel candidates welcome If you are interested or would like to be presented, please reach out to me for more details.
