The Opportunity Build the Future with Us Join WSP’s Buildings Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) team in Winnipeg and help design the electrical systems that power the places where people work, learn, heal, and connect. As an Intermediate Electrical Engineer , you will contribute to the delivery of smart, resilient, and future‑ready building solutions across Manitoba and the Prairie region, with opportunities to support projects nationally. Reporting to the M&E Manager, you will collaborate within a multidisciplinary environment, gaining exposure to a diverse portfolio of institutional, healthcare, transportation, and industrial facilities while advancing your technical depth and professional growth.
Your Impact Design high‑performance electrical building systems including power distribution, emergency and standby power, UPS, grounding, lightning protection, fire detection and voice alarm, lighting and controls, telecommunications, security, and site services. Support the delivery of coordinated electrical designs from concept through construction, ensuring quality, constructability, and code compliance at every stage. Prepare detailed technical specifications aligned with the Canadian Electrical Code, provincial building codes, and applicable CSA and IEEE standards.
Develop clear, accurate AutoCAD drawings and Revit MEP 3D models that communicate design intent and support integrated project delivery. Conduct site investigations and construction reviews to verify existing conditions, review installations, and support resolution of field issues. Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other disciplines to develop integrated, value‑driven building solutions.
Provide technical review and oversight of electrical deliverables prepared by designers, ensuring alignment with project requirements and WSP standards. The Skills That Set You Apart You bring: Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration in Manitoba or the ability to obtain. 3+ years of electrical building systems design experience. Demonstrated experience delivering electrical systems for complex institutional, healthcare, transportation, or industrial facilities.
Strong working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code, provincial building codes, and relevant CSA and IEEE standards. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP , with a commitment to using digital tools to enhance quality and coordination. Experience working within alternative delivery models such as Construction Management (CM), Design‑Build (DB), and P3 environments.
The ability to manage priorities independently, meet project deadlines, and contribute effectively within integrated teams. Familiarity with energy efficiency and sustainability requirements, including ASHRAE 90.1 and LEED v4, is an asset. Why Choose WSP?
