Portable Power Generation & Enclosure Systems Company: NextGen Fabrication Employment Type: Full-Time Travel: Up to 20% About NextGen Fabrication NextGen Fabrication is a rapidly growing industrial fabrication and engineering company specializing in large-scale power generation enclosures, e-houses, control buildings, data center infrastructure, and custom-engineered industrial systems. We are expanding our power generation division and are seeking a highly experienced engineering leader to design and develop a new generation of utility-grade and mission-critical generator enclosure products ranging from 500 kW to 4 MW+. This position will lead all engineering activities related to generator enclosures, fuel systems, ventilation systems, acoustics, structural design, and electrical integration.

Position Overview The Director of Engineering will be responsible for the technical leadership, design standards, product development roadmap, and engineering team management for NextGen Fabrication's power generation products. The successful candidate will possess deep expertise in diesel and natural gas power generation systems, packaged generator enclosures, cooling and ventilation systems, fuel storage systems, acoustics, structural engineering coordination, and electrical integration. This individual will build and manage a team consisting of both direct employees and external engineering contractors.

Key Responsibilities Lead design and development of generator enclosure products up to 4 MW+ Develop standardized enclosure platforms and product families UL requirements NFPA standards IBC structural requirements Wind ratings up to 140+ MPH Seismic requirements Data center and mission-critical specifications Design integrated fuel systems with 24-hour and 48-hour runtime capacities Develop advanced ventilation and thermal management systems capable of multiple air changes per minute Lead design reviews and engineering validation Engineering Leadership Recruit, mentor, and manage engineering staff Direct outside engineering consultants and specialty contractors Establish engineering procedures, design standards, and quality systems Review and approve engineering drawings and calculations Project Execution Support estimating and business development efforts Participate in customer meetings and technical presentations Provide manufacturing support to fabrication operations Coordinate with suppliers and OEM partners Manage engineering schedules and budgets Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field 10+ years of experience in power generation, packaged power systems, generator enclosures, or related industries 5+ years leading engineering teams Strong understanding of: Generator cooling systems Acoustic engineering Electrical distribution systems Experience with large industrial generators (1 MW โ€“ 5 MW+) Proficiency with: SolidWorks AutoCAD Revit (preferred) FEA and CFD tools Experience working with manufacturing and fabrication teams Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineer (PE) License Experience with UL 2200 Experience with UL 142 fuel systems Familiarity with NFPA 37, NFPA 70, NFPA 110 Experience serving: Utilities Hospitals Telecommunications Oil & gas Critical infrastructure Previous experience with generator OEMs, packagers, or enclosure manufacturers What Success Looks Like Within the first 12 months, this individual will: Establish NextGen's engineering standards and processes Build and manage an internal engineering team Launch a standardized line of generator enclosure products Improve manufacturability and field serviceability Position NextGen Fabrication as a leading supplier of mission-critical power generation enclosures Compensation Performance bonus Equity participation opportunities for exceptional candidates Relocation assistance available Significant career growth opportunity within a rapidly expanding company To Apply Please submit your resume, project portfolio, and a brief summary of your experience designing generator enclosures, packaged power systems, or mission-critical power generation equipment. #J-18808-Ljbffr
