Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to lead our engineering organization and oversee the design, technical execution, and delivery of complex electrical power systems. This role requires a highly experienced electrical engineering professional with strong leadership skills, deep knowledge of power distribution equipment, and the ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and internal teams. The Director of Engineering will play a critical role in supporting the organization’s continued growth and ensuring that the engineering standards, project execution, and customer experience meet the highest professional level.

Key Responsibilities The Director of Engineering will lead and manage the engineering team responsible for the design and execution of electrical power distribution systems. This individual will oversee project engineering activities including system design, drawing review, protection coordination, and technical support for sales and operations. Responsibilities include: Directing and mentoring the engineering team, establishing engineering standards and processes, and ensuring technical accuracy across all projects.

Reviewing engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and system designs prepared by team members to ensure compliance with applicable codes, specifications, and design standards. Collaborating with customers and project managers, participating in technical discussions, reviewing project requirements, and providing engineering guidance throughout project execution. Supporting power system studies, protection relay coordination, generator synchronization systems, and integration of medium- and low-voltage power distribution equipment.

Technical Areas of Responsibility The Director of Engineering will provide technical leadership across the following areas: Medium Voltage Switchgear (5kV – 38kV) Low Voltage Switchgear and Switchboards (UL891 / UL1558 environments) Power and Distribution Transformers Generator control systems including paralleling and synchronization Protection relays and protection coordination Power distribution system design for mission‑critical infrastructure Integration of switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, and generators Leadership Responsibilities Managing and developing the organization’s engineering organization, supervising electrical engineers, designers, and technical staff, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and meet the company’s quality standards. Reviewing engineering deliverables, improving engineering workflows, supporting project managers and shop operations, and ensuring strong communication between engineering, sales, and manufacturing teams. What We’re Looking For Senior‑level expertise in medium‑voltage and low‑voltage switchgear systems Strong understanding of power transformers and substation equipment Experience with protection relays and power system coordination Experience with generator controls including paralleling and synchronization Proven ability to lead and manage an engineering team Experience reviewing engineering drawings, schematics, and system designs Excellent communication skills with customers and internal teams Strong organizational and leadership capabilities Proficient with MS Office.

Good to have Experience supporting projects in Data Center Infrastructure, Renewable Energy and Utility Interconnection, Oil & Gas and Industrial Power Systems. Experience with mission‑critical electrical systems, packaged power distribution solutions, and integrated switchgear systems is highly desirable. #J-18808-Ljbffr
