Job Description
Nonprofit in the West Chicago suburbs is seeking an experienced and dynamic Development/Fundraiser to join their team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in driving our fundraising efforts, developing and maintaining relationships with donors, and ensuring the sustainability and growth of our programs. Key Responsibilities: Player Coach - Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing fundraising team, including grant writers and development professionals, by serving as a player-coach who actively drives results while fostering accountability, growth, and collaboration.
Fundraising Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to meet annual and long-term revenue goals. Donor Relations: Cultivate and steward relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, foundations, and other funding sources. Campaign Management: Plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising campaigns, events, and initiatives.
Communications: Create compelling fundraising communications, including appeal letters, newsletters, social media content, and donor acknowledgments. Database Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in the organization’s database, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations. Collaboration: Work closely with the executive team, board members, and program staff to align fundraising efforts with organizational goals and priorities.
Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Nonprofit Management, Communications, Marketing, Business). Experience: Minimum of ten years’ experience with non-profit fundraising, including demonstrated success in soliciting and securing gifts of at least $10,000. Skills: Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding fundraising goals. Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work proficiently in (or quickly learn) a database program (Salesforce) to manage contacts and run reports. Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
