Director of Development, Health and Human Development Classification: Administrator II Department: College of Health and Human Development, Cal State Fullerton Job Summary: Lead and manage major gift fundraising efforts, develop strategic plans for donor engagement, coordinate campus‑wide fundraising events, cultivate relationships with faculty, staff, students and community partners to secure financial support for the college. Salary Range: $7,600 – $9,300 per month Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; occasional early morning, evening and/or weekend hours. Essential Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year college or university in a related field. 3–5 years of demonstrated successful direct major gift fundraising experience.

Ability to solicit and secure gifts of a minimum of $25,000. Familiarity with the culture of a university and ability to work with faculty, staff, students, and volunteers. Experience coordinating fundraising events and creating strategic development plans with assessment built in to determine progress and success.

Ability to travel frequently, holding both on‑ and off‑site conversations and presentations to individuals and corporate leaders for cultivation and solicitation purposes. Proficiency with general office equipment, Windows‑based software, and donor database systems. Completed background check (including criminal records check) required for employment.

Preferred Qualifications Experience working as a fundraising officer in higher education. Familiarity with departments within a College of Health and Human Development or experience in healthcare fundraising. Advanced degree preferred.

Special Working Conditions Duties may be performed outdoors under various weather conditions; participation in annual commencement ceremonies and travel to off‑campus locations for events, programs and meetings. Compliance and Ethical Requirements Must file an initial Conflict of Interest Form 700 within 30 days of hire and on an annual basis; complete CSU‑sponsored ethics online training within 30 days of appointment and at least once during each consecutive two‑year period following appointment. The position is designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) under the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act; CSA training is required.
