Design Manager

Job Title: Senior Design Manager - Workplace & Spatial Strategy Location: Calgary, AB Duration: 2 Year Contract (Hybrid) Are you ready to champion the spatial evolution of a premier financial institution's extensive corporate and retail footprint? As a consultative partner within our elite real estate and facilities division, you will lead the strategic execution of innovative design solutions that transform business objectives into high-visibility, award-winning environments. By steering high-performing external design teams, you will directly shape the future of modern workplace optimization and client-facing experiences.

Responsibilities Lead the end-to-end design strategy for a diverse portfolio of corporate and retail construction projects to ensure seamless, functional, and visually consistent environments aligned with organizational health and business goals. Optimize multi-million dollar capital expenditure frameworks and value engineering initiatives to deliver cost-effective spatial designs without compromising aesthetic integrity or financial targets. Formulate comprehensive spatial programming, space planning metrics, and construction documentation to establish seamless integration across physical spatial layouts, technological infrastructure, and compliance controls.

Cultivate high-value stakeholder partnerships and vendor relationships to streamline project delivery pipelines, mitigate operational risk, and champion universal brand standards across a multi-million square foot portfolio. Qualifications 8+ years of progressive leadership experience guiding complex corporate, commercial, or retail design management projects from initial concept through final contract administration. Advanced technical mastery of AutoCAD, Revit, and related design software packages alongside integrated workplace management tools to oversee precise blueprint execution.

Proven track record of establishing continuous improvement initiatives, performance KPIs, and proactive risk mitigation strategies within active corporate and public-facing environments. Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, or a related field, combined with executive-level stakeholder communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution expertise.
