Design Engineer

Position: Design Engineer Sector: Automotive Specialism: Electrical / battery / electrified powertrain Location: Warwickshire Duration: 3 months initially CAD Package: Catia V5 Tenure : Inside IR35 or PAYE. This role is NOT outside IR35 Rate: PAYE £275 per day, Umbrella £350 per day 3 month contract working with a leading player in the automotive electrical sector. Carry out component and system-level packaging studies to define constraints within existing and new architectures. Support the development of mechanical concepts for battery pack integration, covering cell and module layout, HV and LV harness routing, thermal management and structural constraint within the system architecture. Deliver component and system design, CAD and 2D drawings from prototype through to production intent across transmission, battery and test rig mechanical disciplines. Maintain a high standard of CAD modelling and drawing output, in line with internal and external design standards, including GD&T. Use appropriate quality and CAD-based CAE tools in support of design activities. Prepare and release components, sub-assemblies and assemblies within the PLM system. Assist with the preparation of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and build documentation.

Support internal and external design and DMU reviews, contributing effectively to technical discussions and resolution of actions. Support DFMEA reviews and 8D investigations where required.
