Job Description

Job Summary Primary Eyecare Services, the largest not-for-profit provider of NHS primary and community eye care services in England, is recruiting a full‑time Data Analyst to support the continued development of our data, reporting and insight capabilities. Responsibilities Analyse service and practice activity using business intelligence and reporting tools to generate actionable insights. Build and maintain interactive dashboards to support transparent reporting for internal and external stakeholders.

Track KPIs and produce detailed monthly and quarterly reports to assess provider performance. Identify trends, gaps and opportunities to improve service coverage and efficiency. Support new contract acquisitions and tenders through data‑driven insight and analysis.

Review and optimise internal processes to improve operational efficiency. Contribute to improving data quality through validation and consistency checks. Provide regular updates on data and reporting projects to ensure visibility of progress.

Work with data warehouse sources to support accurate reporting and analysis. Conduct predictive analysis to support financial forecasting and accruals. Assist in producing financial reports, including the Sales Activity Report.

Work with NHS systems such as SUS and DLP to support timely and accurate submissions. Communicate complex data findings clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Collaborate with internal teams and contribute to ongoing digital transformation initiatives.

Qualifications Essential: A degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience. Strong SQL and Python programming skills. Experience using data visualisation tools and reporting platforms.

Ability to analyse complex data and present clear, actionable insights. Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Good organisational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. A proactive approach with adaptability and willingness to learn. Desirable: Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) in line with GOC expectations.

Experience working with healthcare or NHS data. Experience using business intelligence tools and data warehouse environments. Experience supporting financial reporting or forecasting.

Familiarity with NHS systems such as SUS or DLP. Benefits Salary: £32,000 to £35,000 per annum (depending on experience). Working pattern: Full‑time, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday (9:00 am to 5:00 pm) with a three‑month probation period.

Location: Hybrid working, with a requirement to attend the Manchester office (Ancoats) twice per week. Annual leave: 25 days plus bank holidays, increasing to 30 days with service. Pension: Up to 5% employer contribution.
