Job Description
Site Engineer โ Civil Engineering & Groundworks We are currently representing a leading contractor in the civil engineering and groundworks sector, who are looking to appoint a Site Engineer to join their high-performing team on a major project based in Edinburgh. As Site Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the technical and operational delivery of the project. You will be responsible for interpreting engineering information, ensuring accurate setting out, and effectively communicating technical requirements to site teams to maintain programme and budget targets.
You will also contribute to maintaining high standards across health & safety, quality, and sustainability, while supporting junior team members in their development. Promote safe working practices and support project HSES objectives Collaborate with site teams to ensure smooth project delivery Interpret and communicate engineering drawings and specifications Ensure all engineering information used on-site is current and approved Maintain and verify survey control systems Produce as-built records in line with project requirements Manage and maintain survey equipment and calibration Support the delivery of the project Quality Plan Conduct site inspections and address minor quality issues Interpret specifications and work with Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) Support logistics planning and coordination Assist with inspections and ensure compliance with procedures Work in line with project programme and contractual requirements HNC (or higher) in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Structural Engineering Proven experience in setting out and engineering delivery, ideally on concrete frame or similar projects Strong understanding of surveying techniques and equipment, with the ability to guide others Experience using CAD software for data transfer (EDM/survey equipment preferred) Competitive Salary Private Health Insurance Company Car / Car Allowance Opportunity to work on a major, high-profile project Career progression and professional development opportunities
