Cloud Engineer

Cloud Engineer – DevOps Focus Location: Remote Contract £525 OUTSIDE OF IR35 We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer with strong DevOps expertise to join a fast-paced financial services environment. This role will suit someone with a strong background in cloud infrastructure, automation, CI/CD, and platform engineering across multi-cloud environments including AWS, Azure, and GCP. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.

Develop and enhance CI/CD pipelines to support rapid and secure software delivery. Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools. Collaborate with development, security, and infrastructure teams to improve platform reliability and performance.

Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions across cloud platforms. Support cloud migration and transformation initiatives within highly regulated financial services environments. Ensure cloud platforms align with security, compliance, and governance standards.

Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and deployment issues across production and non-production environments. Required Skills & Experience Strong hands-on experience with at least two of the following cloud platforms: Amazon Web Services (AWS) Microsoft Azure Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Strong DevOps and automation experience. Expertise with Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or similar IaC tools.

Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps. Strong scripting experience with Python, Bash, or PowerShell. Containerisation and orchestration experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog, or Splunk. Strong understanding of networking, security, IAM, and cloud governance principles. Previous experience working within financial services, banking, insurance, or highly regulated environments is essential.

Desirable Skills Experience with SRE practices and platform engineering. Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks within financial services. Experience working in Agile / Scrum delivery environments.

Relevant cloud certifications across AWS, Azure, or GCP. What We’re Looking For Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work within complex enterprise environments.
