An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Liaison Psychiatry Service. You will have a real passion for mental health care and be able to work in a challenging & dynamic environment. As a Specialist Psychiatric Nurse you will be committed to providing high‑quality acute assessment in the Emergency Department and provide ongoing care & expertise to any patient admitted to our hospital with co‑morbid psychiatric care needs.
We are particularly interested in applications from RMNs with experience of providing therapies such as CBT or EMDR. You are seeking a confident & accomplished practitioner to join our accredited service and share the vision of ‘high quality care for all’. Requirements The ideal candidate must have at least 2 years of experience of acute (Crisis/Liaison) assessment at Band 6 level or above.
This is a full‑time (1.00 wte) permanent post. Responsibilities Your main duties include seeing, assessing & treating patients that are attending acute services, primarily in the Emergency Department. This may include delivering a range of nursing & psychosocial interventions to individual patients & their families, as appropriate.
You are likely to assist & support general hospital colleagues in making decisions about treatment & care in complex situations, and will confidently be able to liaise with external organisations and agencies regarding patient care and pathways. You will be working within a team but often as an autonomous clinical specialist within the general hospital. Your role also requires consultation, liaison & teaching general hospital staff at all levels.
The Service runs from 0700‑2100 hrs, 7 days a week and you will be required to work shifts covering evenings & weekends. The Service may extend to provide 24‑hour care, with possible commissioning changes.
