Job Description

The Faculty of Nursing invites applications for a Clinical Knowledge Coordinator. This fixed‑term recurring part‑time position is for approximately 13 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension. The position is part of the AUPE Bargaining Unit and is funded through a CIHR grant.

The role reports to Dr. Tracie Risling. Key elements of this role are to bridge clinical practice and research by ensuring nursing perspectives, expertise, and practice‑based knowledge are integrated throughout the project.

The coordinator will collaborate with the research tripartite team to support the design, implementation, interpretation and dissemination of findings, ensuring that results are relevant, actionable and aligned with the realities of nursing practice and patient care. Key Responsibilities Support the implementation of the research program Provide clinical perspectives and views in all aspects of the project Attend most relevant meetings related to the research project Demonstrate willingness to complete any additional training Work with the team to support knowledge translation strategies and in‑scope supervision Demonstrate respect and sensitivity and maintain relationships with colleagues and other staff groups Qualifications / Requirements Currently work in an Intensive Critical Unit in Calgary, Lethbridge or Edmonton in a part‑time position Current registration as a Registered Nurse (or eligible for registration) in good standing Minimum 10 years recent intensive care unit experience (adult critical care preferred) Strong understanding of ICU workflows, patient acuity, interdisciplinary collaboration and bedside nursing realities Experience serving in a leadership, mentorship, charge nurse, educator or practice support role within the ICU is considered an asset Proficiency in communication, planning and mentorship is required Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills are essential Open to learning and development and willing to accept new challenges and assignments Strong clinical judgment and ability to apply evidence to practice Demonstrated interest or experience in quality improvement, research participation, mentorship or professional practice initiatives Understanding of ethical standards, confidentiality and professional accountability in healthcare environments Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to support collaborative decision‑making and represent clinical perspectives in leadership discussions Comfortable facilitating discussions, education sessions or small group engagement Respected by peers as a clinical role model within the ICU Demonstrates professionalism, integrity and cultural humility ICU certification including Hemodialysis, CRRT, Swan Ganz, level 1 and level 2 an asset Active member of Medical Emergency or Rapid response Team and CODE team an asset Experience as an ICU Charge Nurse an asset Requires advanced technical knowledge and experience of own discipline and other related disciplines Uses best practices and knowledge of internal and external issues to improve efficiency Solves complex technical issues using existing solutions and may delegate less complex items to others Works independently with minimal guidance Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience Application Deadline: April 15, 2026 We would like to thank all applicants in advance for submitting their resumes.
