Job Description
Civil Engineer (Structural Analysis) Mississauga, ON | 12-Month Contract About the Role We are seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer with experience in structural analysis, integrity assessments, and support design for nuclear and heavy industrial facilities. The successful candidate will perform structural analyses, develop engineering designs, prepare technical documentation, and support multidisciplinary project teams. Responsibilities Perform static, dynamic, seismic, and soil-structure interaction (SSI) analyses.
Design and assess steel, reinforced concrete, and masonry structures. Prepare engineering calculations, technical specifications, and design packages. Develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed structural designs.
Utilize structural analysis software such as ANSYS, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, SSASI, and LS-Dyna. Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and QA requirements. Conduct field walkdowns, design reviews, and support design modifications.
Mentor junior engineers and review technical deliverables. Qualifications Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. P.Eng. designation in Ontario. 5โ10+ years of experience in structural engineering within nuclear, oil & gas, mining, petrochemical, refinery, power generation, or other heavy industrial environments.
Strong experience with structural analysis, integrity assessments, support design, steel structures, reinforced concrete, anchorages, and baseplates. Proficiency with GT STRUDL, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, ANSYS, SSASI, or similar software. Knowledge of CSA N287, CSA A23.3, CSA S16, NBCC, and related industry standards.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Qualifications Nuclear or CANDU experience. Seismic and dynamic analysis experience.
EPC/EPCM project experience. Familiarity with nuclear QA programs and design change processes. Site experience within operating industrial or power generation facilities.
