This role will work closely with clients, engineers, architects, project managers, and construction supervisors on a variety of projects across public and private sectors.Position OverviewThe Civil Engineer will support projects involving land development, grading, drainage, pavement, roadway, and utility design. Responsibilities include preparing engineering drawings and specifications, cost estimating, and transforming concept designs into working documents using AutoCAD (Civil 3D experience is a plus).Key Responsibilities • Prepare drawings and construction documents including site plans, utility plans, grading plans, demolition plans, details, and general sheets. • Write specifications in industry-standard CSI format. • Ensure compliance with California building codes and applicable standards. • Support the review process with city, county, and state agencies (AHJ, OSFM, DSA, etc.). • Collaborate with clients, project managers, architects, engineers, and construction supervisors. • Communicate effectively with in-house technical teams across civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and architectural disciplines. • Perform calculations, spreadsheets, reports, and technical notes using Excel and Word. • Prepare Rough Order-of-Magnitude cost estimates. • Conduct peer reviews using Bluebeam.Qualifications • B.S. in Civil Engineering • 2–5 years of related experience preferred • E.I.T. certification preferred • Proficiency in AutoCAD (Civil 3D a plus) • Strong technical, communication, and writing skills • Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision • Experience with permitting and review processes through city, county, and state authorities • Familiarity with commercial and industrial projects in CaliforniaInterested in hearing more?
