Buildings Manager - Secondary School Location: South Yorkshire Start Date: September 2026 Contract Type: Full-time, Long Term Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience We are seeking a proactive and reliable Buildings Manager to join a welcoming secondary school in Sheffield from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced site, facilities, or premises professional to play a key role in ensuring the school environment remains safe, secure, and well-maintained for students, staff, and visitors. As Buildings Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day management of the school's premises, ensuring the highest standards of health and safety, maintenance, security, and compliance are maintained across the site.

Key Responsibilities Oversee the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and security of the school site. Carry out routine inspections and coordinate repairs and maintenance works. Manage site contractors and ensure all works are completed safely and effectively.

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and statutory requirements. Support the management of site budgets and maintenance schedules. Monitor and maintain school facilities, grounds, and equipment.

Assist with lettings, school events, and emergency call-outs where required. Act as a key holder and support site security procedures. The Ideal Candidate Will Have Previous experience in a facilities, premises, site management, or buildings management role.

Good knowledge of health and safety regulations and building compliance requirements. Strong practical maintenance and problem-solving skills. The ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Excellent communication and organisational skills. A proactive and professional approach to maintaining a safe learning environment. Experience working within a school or educational setting is desirable but not essential.
