About the Role Capital Electric has a Branch Manager position available at our Midlothian, VA location. The Branch Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of branch functions in sales, administration, and operations, with a focus on budgeting, inventory control, profit maximization, and customer satisfaction.
The role also involves developing and implementing market growth opportunities. Responsibilities Anticipate, meet, and/or exceed customer needs, wants, and expectations. Respond to customers with a sense of urgency and ensure commitments are met.
Use selling skills, account management, and customer relations techniques to proactively grow market share and ensure Capital Electric remains the top distributor in the market. Provide leadership to projects and sales staff to grow the customer base, deliver superior service, maintain existing relationships, and increase sales and margins. Carry out daily activities related to branch business administration and management.
Manage the overall logistical operation of the cross dock to ensure accurate and efficient daily material flow. Manage branch inventories through purchasing, shipping, receiving, tracking, warehousing, storage, turnover, and re‑ordering. Commit to a clean and safe working environment, following all safety guidelines and reporting hazards and injuries promptly.
Add value by promoting improved job performance of associates. Select and train associates for specific job functions and assign responsibilities to meet customer needs while maintaining profitability. Provide direction and leadership in setting priorities, exhibiting enthusiasm and determination to influence coworkers.
Offer insight and expertise on the local market, using flexibility, innovation, and risk‑taking to seize new opportunities. Value a culture of high energy, passion for work, and entrepreneurial ownership. Support organizational success through teamwork, cross‑regional and interdepartmental cooperation and collaboration.
Use effective communication skills to interact with others productively. Minimum Qualifications 4‑year college degree in business or a combination of relevant knowledge through job‑related experience and training. Extensive knowledge of electrical products and the distribution industry with a minimum of 4 years of related experience.
Experience working in the Eclipse ERP is preferred. 2‑3 years of supervisory or training experience. Proven leadership and organizational skills. Problem‑solving ability.
Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, up to 50 lbs., occasionally more, to assist customers during regular business or an emergency basis. Reliable, responsible, and a strong work ethic.
