Job Description
We are looking for a Benefits Analyst to join our high-achieving team dedicated to delivering an exceptional client experience. As a Benefits Analyst, you will manage and support a portfolio of Group Insurance & Retirement (Pension) clients and provide group benefits consulting support, including design and financial management for our existing client block and prospective clients. Key Responsibilities Contribute to the overall design and management of group medical, dental, life, disability, and special risk benefits for clients. Conduct annual renewal analysis and negotiate with carriers; prepare client reports and presentations. Perform experience reporting, budget projections, and review financial performance plans.
Review financial statements for accuracy and adherence to underwriting agreements. Conduct marketing activities, including preparing and submitting specifications, analysis, cost comparisons, recommendations on marketing responses, and preparing marketing reports. Gather data and determine cost impact for plan design changes.
Support business development consultants and account management teams in preparing documents for client presentations, RFPs, and client meetings. Participate in industry conferences, seminars, and other events to keep abreast of industry trends and activities. Build relationships with clients, carriers, and internal crossâfunctional teams.
Conduct plan design benchmarking studies. Review all benefits documentation (contracts, booklets, collective agreements, amendments) for accuracy. Prepare detailed plan design documents using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint templates, and manage updates when required.
Investigate and assist with resolving ad hoc claims and coverage issues for clients. Support additional tasks and projects as needed. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience as an analyst in the group benefits space.
Knowledge of Canadian benefits industry and group benefits financial underwriting requirements for all types of employee benefits plans. CEBS designation is not required but a strong asset. Experience in group insurance, pension/retirement, or a related field (preferred, not required).
Passion for delivering excellent client service. Strong relationshipâbuilding skills and genuine interest in community engagement. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fastâpaced environment. Effective problemâsolving and decisionâmaking capabilities.
Selfâstarter attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with advanced competency in Excel. Strong analytical skills.
