Job Description

Hatchet Hall is seeking an experienced Bar Manager to join our expanding team. W e require a candidate with a minimum of 2 years of management experience in fine dining service and/or high volume casual fine dining. Job Description: As the Bar Manager at Hatchet Hall, your responsibilities will include: Collaborate with the Beverage Director to create and manage a detailed training program for front of house staff, including scheduling training, check-ins post-training, and ensuring staff are floor-ready upon completion of training.

Collaborate with the General Manager to hire new bartenders, schedule staff, and ensure they are trained and ready to perform their duties. Oversee all service-related issues that involve the guest experience, including beverage and food menu knowledge, meal break times, and clear steps of service. Manage weekly and monthly inventory counts for all products in-house, including CGS, glassware, bar paraphernalia, and non-perishables.

Work directly with the General Manager to execute seasonal specials, buyouts, events, and promotional offerings. Collaborate with the Beverage Director to create and serve a range of cocktails and other beverages, using a variety of techniques and ingredients to ensure exceptional quality and presentation. Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of our menu, including cocktails, wine, and beer, as well as a consolidated understanding of the food menu, meal coursing, and service steps related to the steps of service, and making recommendations to guests as needed.

Provide excellent customer service, including greeting guests, taking orders, and addressing any questions or concerns that guests may have. Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including ensuring that all equipment is properly cleaned and stored. Collaborate with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure a smooth flow of service, including proper meal coursing and service steps related to the steps of service.

Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, sanitation, and licensing requirements. Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up and breaking down the bar area, and ensuring that all inventory is properly stored and accounted for. Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as needed.

Requirements: 2-3 years of experience as a bartender in a fine dining or upscale restaurant setting. Excellent knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, as well as wine and beer. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide excellent customer service.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
