Full-time Remote Remote $80,000 – $110,000 Engineering • Posted March 22, 2026 About This Role Our backend team owns the APIs, queues, and data pipelines that underpin TekValley's platform. You will design and ship reliable PHP/Laravel services, collaborate with frontend engineers on API contracts, and help the team maintain high availability across production environments. Key Responsibilities Design and build RESTful and GraphQL APIs in PHP/Laravel Write database migrations and optimise MySQL query performance Implement background job queues (Laravel Horizon / Redis) Build and maintain third-party API integrations (Meta, Google, HubSpot) Write thorough unit and integration tests Participate in architecture reviews and on-call rotations Document services and maintain internal runbooks Requirements 4+ years PHP backend development Deep Laravel or Symfony experience Strong MySQL / query optimisation skills Experience with Redis and queue systems Comfort with Docker and CI/CD pipelines Familiarity with REST API design best practices Bonus: GraphQL, AWS Lambda, or microservices experience 100% Remote $2,000 Learning Budget MacBook Pro + home-office budget Flexible PTO On-call compensation Annual company retreat What We'll Ask To ensure this role is the right fit, we'll ask about: Describe the most complex API or service you have built.
