About The Role / Day To Day Responsibilities

• Advises agency on architecture and security concerns associated with Azure, including in-place migrations/refactoring.
• Recommends lift and shift and on-premise to cloud native migrations.
• Recommends refactoring within Azure environment.
• Conducts testing within Azure to demonstrate minimal viable product of an architecture.
• Understands available offerings from COV, MSI and other connected parties.
• Creates configurations to Azure in support of agency-level objectives, primarily to Azure-based services.
• Signs Non-Disclosure Agreement.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of cloud fundamentals.
• Knowledge of single and multi-cloud strategies and implications.
• Experience designing cloud solutions that meet business requirements.
• Strong knowledge of Azure network and storage architectures.
• Experience with Azure services (e.g., Key Vault, Entra ID).
• Experience with Azure Functions, Web App/App Service, Containers, micro-services and serverless architecture.
• Knowledge of cloud security principles including zero-trust, network segmentation, just-in-time access, conditional access, etc.
• Experience architecting solutions that meet RPO and RTO objectives in Azure.
• Effective documentation writing; ability to produce professional documentation (position papers, architecture documentation, etc.).
• Experience managing cloud-based security posture activities, including vulnerability remediation, perimeter defense architecture, encryption.
• Knowledge of DevOps, Azure DevOps and GitHub Enterprise Cloud.
• Experience with data storage products like SQL Server, Oracle and non-relational storage (Cosmos DB).
• On-premise architect experience 5+ years.
• Strong communication skills.
• Microsoft Certification in Azure Solutions Architect (upload certificate).
