Job Description We are seeking a talented Automation Developer to leverage LGI's automation technologies to design, develop, and deploy process automation solutions across the Retail function. The role focuses on delivering innovative solutions to business challenges by pragmatically automating manual processes, while consistently adhering to robust development governance and change control standards. What you'll be doing: Designing, developing, and deploying end-to-end automation solutions into the production environment, leveraging enterprise automation tools to transform business processes and deliver innovative, high-value solutions.

Collaborating with non-technical stakeholders across the Retail organisation to define, assess, and validate requirements, ensuring a shared understanding of deliverables and maximising business benefit. Influencing and engaging senior stakeholders on the feasibility, prioritisation, and value of automation initiatives to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality outcomes. Providing expert technical guidance and mentoring to members of the Insurance change teams, promoting knowledge sharing and strengthening understanding of automation capabilities and best practices.

Identifying and supporting the integration of emerging technologies to continuously enhance automation capability and drive ongoing process improvement. Identifying, assessing, and escalating risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies that may impact Insurance activities, recommending mitigating actions and ensuring adherence to automation governance standards and Legal & General policies. Ensuring all work aligns with Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles by supporting Legal & General’s commitments to customer experience, employee engagement, continuous improvement, and ethical delivery.

Who we're looking for: Proven expertise in designing, developing, and delivering automation solutions using enterprise platforms such as Blue Prism, Liberty Create, and Microsoft Power Platform. Strong technical capability across SQL (Transact-SQL and DB2), VBA, and office-based data tools, with the ability to build efficient, scalable solutions. Experience operating and supporting a production digital workforce within well-governed, high-availability environments.

Demonstrated delivery experience within Agile and/or DevOps frameworks, contributing to iterative development and continuous improvement. Ability to collaborate effectively with non-technical stakeholders, translating business requirements into robust, value-driven automation solutions. Confidence engaging and influencing senior stakeholders on solution feasibility, risk, and prioritisation.

Awareness of the UK Financial Services regulatory environment and the importance of compliance in automation delivery. Relevant certifications desirable, including Blue Prism Induction or ROM Architect, Liberty Create Level 2 (Advanced), and/or Green Belt Six Sigma.
