We are a talent sourcing firm specializing in finance and accounting roles across the energy and healthcare sectors. We are currently partnering with a large, well-established medical technology company to fill an immediate Accounting Manager position. Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Accounting Manager for an immediate start opportunity. This is a contract role based on-site in the Energy Corridor area of Houston. While the company promotes a flexible culture, this role requires a consistent on-site presence. This position will play a key role in overseeing the accounting function, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting the month-end close process. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise along with leadership capabilities. Key Responsibilities • Oversee and manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies • Manage general ledger activities and maintain accuracy of financial records • Lead and mentor accounting staff • Coordinate with auditors and support audit requests (internal and external) • Prepare and review financial statements and management reports • Drive process improvements and enhance accounting workflows and controls • Support budgeting and forecasting activities in collaboration with FP&A • Monitor and analyze variances and key financial metrics • Ensure timely and accurate balance sheet and income statement reporting • Assist with system implementations, upgrades, or process automation initiatives • Handle ad hoc accounting projects and reporting needs Qualifications • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting or industry) and recent experience as Accounting Manager • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required • CPA or CPA-eligible strongly preferred • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar preferred) • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills • Proven ability to manage deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment • Excellent communication and leadership skills ediate consideration!
